Thanks for this! For each word, phrase and expression, a decision must be taken. The possibilities are not endless but it almost feels like it. IA takes one path, generally the most obvious one, but not always the most elegant or idiomatic. I see more and more bad translation everywhere in ads. For example, a well-known language tutor company sent this "Il est encore temps de rejoindre!" - They were obviously translating "to join" (a challenge), but in French, this doesn't mean anything. I would have put "Il est encore temps de s'inscrire"! Too bad that companies are not investing in some human checking of their automatic translations.

I have heard so much from translator colleagues about how it's impacting their work. I hope we see a bit of a boomerang effect where people start re-investing in quality control for translations and realize that there are certain things where you just need a human involved!
